Privacy Policy
1. Overview
MediaConvert Pro ("the App") is built with privacy as a first principle. All file conversion happens entirely on your device. We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell your personal data or media files.
This Privacy Policy explains what limited data interactions the App has, and why.
2. Data We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, transmit, or have access to:
- Your media files (photos, videos, audio, PDFs).
- Your name, email address, or any personally identifying information.
- Your device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV, or similar).
- Analytics, crash reports, or usage telemetry beyond what Apple provides to all developers.
- Location data.
3. On-Device Processing
Every conversion the App performs — image format changes, image-to-PDF merging, audio extraction, and video conversion — is executed locally on your iPhone or iPad using Apple's built-in frameworks (Core Image, PDFKit, AVFoundation). Your media files never leave your device as part of any App function.
4. Photo Library Access
When you choose to add photos or videos, the App requests access to your Photo Library via Apple's PHPhotoPicker or UIImagePickerController. This access is:
- Initiated by you — the App never reads your library without an explicit action on your part.
- Used only to load the files you select — no background access occurs.
- Not transmitted anywhere — selected files are processed on-device and the result is offered to you for saving or sharing.
You can revoke Photo Library access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.
5. Purchase and Subscription Data
Pro subscriptions and purchases are handled entirely by Apple's App Store and StoreKit framework. We do not process, store, or have access to your payment information.
Apple's handling of purchase data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
The App uses StoreKit to verify your subscription status locally on your device. No purchase receipt data is transmitted to any server operated by us.
6. Keychain Usage
The App uses the iOS Keychain to store a single integer — your free conversion count — so it persists across app reinstalls and iCloud data deletions. This value:
- Is stored only on your device in the iOS Keychain.
- Is not synced to iCloud or any external server.
- Contains no personal information — only a number.
7. Conversion History
The App maintains a local conversion history (file names, dates, output file references) stored in your app's local sandbox on your device. This data:
- Never leaves your device.
- Can be cleared at any time from the History screen ("Clear All").
- Is not backed up to iCloud (it references local temporary files that are not eligible for iCloud backup).
8. No Third-Party SDKs or Advertising
The App does not include any advertising networks, third-party analytics SDKs, social media SDKs, or tracking libraries. There is no ad tracking of any kind.
9. Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). Because we collect no personal data at all, the App is safe for use by children, though a parent or guardian should review any content being converted.
10. Data Security
Because all processing is on-device and we collect no data, there is no server-side data to secure. Converted output files are stored in the app's temporary directory and are managed by iOS. You control sharing and saving of any output file.
11. Your Rights
Because we do not collect personal data, there is no data for us to provide, correct, or delete on your behalf. If you have questions about data held by Apple (e.g., purchase records), please contact Apple directly.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
